The second round of the patients to apply for medical marijuana program is going to start from November 1, 2014. For this batch, the individuals having their last names starting with M through Z will be allowed to apply for a registry card to the Illinois Public Health Department.
Saturday has been fixed by the department to start receiving applications from the second group of people.
The applicants of the first round having names starting with A through L were thousands in number. They have already submitted their applications which have been processed by the state of Illinois. The remaining patients, desirous of applying for the program, were asked to wait until November 1. Now that moment has come.
Under Illinois’ new program, the aspiring medical marijuana patients are required to submit a written certification from their physician to become eligible for the facility. However, such a documentary proof will be waved off for the military veterans entitled for Veterans Affairs care. Moreover, it is not permissible for the federally employed Veterans Affairs physicians to prescribe controlled substances to their patients.
